Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Amazing Himalaya will greet you and take you to your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Full day sightseeing and trekking permit preparation

Before starting with our trekking to Annapurna Base Camp, we will be exploring Kathmandu Valley by visiting famous tourist spots like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunathstupa, and Boudhanath Stupa which are all listed in UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Basantapur, sheds light on the life of the royals in ancient times. The major attractions of Kathmandu Durbar Square are Kumari Ghar, Goddess Taleju Bhawani Temple, Kasthamandap Temple, and Kal Bhairav. You can also witness stunning ancient Newari architecture around the Durbar premises.

Pashupatinath Temple is a sacred site for Hindu pilgrims worldwide. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River in Kathmandu. The temple is built in Nepali Pagoda style, with intricate carvings and beautiful decorations highlighting Nepal’s rich historical and artistic history. Hindus are only allowed inside the temple premises, but others can enjoy the temple area from a respectful distance.

Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, is on top of a hill and has historical significance associated with the foundation of Kathmandu Valley. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Kathmandu.

Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world and a popular tourist spot in Kathmandu. You will experience a spiritual vibe around the Boudhanath area with Tibetan chanting and mantras. Strolling around the Boudhanath stupa is a different kind of experience. You can sit in one of the rooftop cafes in Boudhanath to soak into the spiritual vibe of the site. Around the stupa, there are many handicrafts and souvenir shops, and you can get something to take back home.

While you enjoy sightseeing around Kathmandu, our representative will prepare for trekking permission for the Annapurna Base Camp trek.

Overnight in Kathmandu.
