Langtang belongs to the most popular trekking areas after Annapurna and Everest. Government of Nepal has declared Langtang as National Park in the year 1974. This area is located at the northern direction from Kathmandu valley. We drive through the pass Kakani 1860 and down to the Trisuli river valley and further to Dhunche, the starting point of this trek. This area is inhabited by a tribe of Bhotia people who embrace Buddhism as their religion. While trekking one can see these people with their Yak herds and Sheep herds a lot.

In the morning, you will be driven to the renowned Swayambhunath Monkey Temple, the oldest Buddhist stupa with monasteries in Nepal. From this vantage point, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Himalayas and the Kathmandu Valley. Subsequently, you will explore the old town of Kathmandu, visiting the Durbar Square, a palace complex adorned with numerous temples and monuments, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the afternoon, the journey continues to Patan, the oldest Buddhist city boasting its significant cultural attractions. You will explore the Durbar Square, featuring various temples, the Krishna Temple, and the Golden Temple. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive through an impressive mountain landscape, passing tranquil villages, to reach Syabru Besi (a distance of 200 km). Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with a wonderful view of the immediate and up-close mountain panoramas. Your overnight stay is arranged in Syabru Besi.
After breakfast, we commence our trek from Syabrubesi along the Langtang Khola. We traverse through oak and rhododendron forests, encountering both ascents and descents. Upon crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola (small river), we arrive at Lama Hotel. Overnight stay at Trekkers Lodge.
Following breakfast, our trek from Lama Hotel along the Langtang Khola takes us through oak and rhododendron forests, and across a bridge over the Langtang Khola. We ascend a steep path leading to Ghora Tabela. Upon reaching the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela, the white peaks of Langtang Mountains come into view. Continuing our climb, we enjoy the mountain landscape with numerous waterfalls. The path winds through the widening valley, passing temporary settlements used by shepherds. Before reaching Langtang village, which was affected by the April 2015 earthquake, we pass a Buddhist monastery. Overnight stay at Trekkers Lodge.
After breakfast, we embark on a hike to Kyangjin Gompa, a main monastery in the region. The route features water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, and the largest Mani wall in Nepal, made of stone with carved inscriptions. After a short hike, the rest of the afternoon is spent exploring the Buddhist shrine at Kyangjin Gompa and the surrounding areas with breathtaking mountain views. In the afternoon, hike to Kyanjin Ri (4350m) for a panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Langtang, Kinshung, and Yansa Tsenji. Overnight stay in Kyangjin Gompa.
For those interested, an excursion to Tsergo Ri (4984m) will be provided. After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day excursion to Tesero Ri, equipped with a packed lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Kyanjin Gompa for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we retrace our steps to Ghora Tabela. The trek descends through forests and beautiful Tamang villages, offering views of the Himalayas missed during the ascent. Overnight stay in Ghoda Tabela.
Early in the morning, after breakfast, our path gently ascends to Thulo Syabru. The village, adorned with Sherpa and Tamang settlements, provides a wonderful view of Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. Overnight stay in Thulo Syabru.
After breakfast at Chandan Bari Sing Gompa, we head downhill to Dhunche via the small village of Ramche and other villages along the route. Today’s trek, surrounded by rhododendrons, pine trees, and Himalayan bamboo, concludes in Dhunche. Our car/bus awaits, and we drive back to Kathmandu, arriving later in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, hop into the car/bus and drive from Dunche to Kathmandu, a journey that takes approximately 6 hours. By afternoon, you will arrive in Kathmandu. Check into your hotel, and the rest of the time is free for you to relax and explore at your leisure. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
This morning, your itinerary includes a visit to Pashupatinath, the most significant Hindu temple. The temple area attracts countless pilgrims, yogis, and devotees, hosting daily Hindu rituals. On the banks of the Bagmati River, cremation ceremonies for the deceased take place. While non-Hindus are not permitted to enter the temple complex, you can still enjoy a panoramic view from a terrace nearby.
Boudhanath presents a contrasting experience as the largest Buddhist stupa, surrounded by numerous Tibetan monasteries. In the afternoon, your exploration continues with a visit to the enchanting royal city of Bhaktapur. The highlights include Durbar Square, the pottery market, the renowned Peacock Window, and the five-story Nyatapola, the tallest pagoda in Nepal. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in Kathmandu.
